Equipment:
- Large pot, strainer, potato masher
- 1 pound (50o g) russet potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 8 garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons (84 g) butter
- ½ cup (142 g) sour cream
- 5 ounces (142 g) cottage cheese
- Salt
- Pepper
- In a large pot over high heat, combine the potatoes and garlic and add just enough water to cover the potatoes.Add the salt.Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender,15 to 2o minutes. Drain and set the potatoes aside.
- Set the pot back on the stove over medium heat and add the butter, sour cream, and cottage cheese. Cook until the butter has fully melted. Add the potatoes and mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
